This past week has been a little surreal. THE POPPY FIELD shot up the main Amazon US chart and reached the heady heights of number 14!!! Not only that it had a beautiful, orange bestseller flag in each of its sub categories as it was number 1 in all of them! It also had a bestseller flag as it was high in the Barnes and Nobel charts and was high up in the Kobo charts.
Writing is a very solitary occupation – don’t get me wrong, I love it and it’s the best job I’ve ever had! Most authors, including me, are rather introverted, although if you met me I wouldn’t appear so most probably. When a book you’ve written is released into the world it’s rather terrifying. You never know how well, or badly, they might do and you have to hope for the best that readers take the book to their hearts and love it and then tell their friends about it.
I’m so grateful for all the love The Poppy Field has received since its publication and the book now has over 1,100 reviews on Amazon. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s bought a copy and to everyone who has taken the time to review my books!
