It’s publication day for Mrs Boots Goes to War, the third book in the Mrs Boots series. The tagline for this book is, ‘The world is at war and her country needs her’ and about Florence Boot’s family and how they supported Britain during the First World War.
Set during the four years of the First World War, Florence Boot’s family has now grown and two of them are married and about to welcome their first children. Florence isn’t one to take things easy though and in Mrs Boots Goes to War she and her beloved husband Jesse decide to support King and country by developing new products for their Boots empire that will help not only the people of Nottingham and Britain, but also the soldiers in the trenches facing filthy water, gas attacks, and other horrors.
I’ve loved writing this series, and those who’ve read The Poppy Field and Broken Faces will know that I especially enjoy writing books set during this era. It was exciting to go back to that time in history, and as is always the case when I write about families struggling to cope with all that war throws at them, also emotional. This is my last book in the series, for the time being at least, and I hope you enjoy spending time with Florence and her wonderful family once again.
