Everyday Kindness, L J Ross Charity Anthology

When I saw a shout-out by L J Ross, independent, international bestselling author of the DCI Ryan mystery series for authors to submit uplifting short stories for her EVERYDAY KINDNESS charity anthology in aid of Shelter, I didn’t imagine my submission would be accepted. I’m honoured to share that it has been and I am thrilled to be one of 50 authors with a short story featured in the EVERYDAY KINDNESS charity anthology to be published by Dark Skies Publishing and to see the amazing cover of this book on the cover of The Bookseller. I’ve been mentioned in The Bookseller as Georgina Troy when one of my books was shortlisted for an award, but I never imagined my own name would actually be on the cover of this legendary magazine, and in such incredible company too.

I’m enormously grateful to be a part of this anthology and to know that the money raised will go to people experiencing homelessness and raise money for Shelter, who work hard to help bring an end to the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and communities in the UK. Seeing my name on the clever book cover as one of the 50 authors on this week’s The Bookseller magazine was the highlight of an otherwise traumatic week when one of my dogs injured himself by snapping his cruciate ligament and shredding the meniscus on that leg requiring an operation that will take at least eight weeks of post-op care.

LJ Ross, as well as being a massively successful, independent author having sold over SEVEN MILLION of her books, she is also a keen philanthropist having founded non-profit initiatives and prizes in support of arts, literacy and local enterprise through her publishing imprint Dark Skies Publishing, ‘with a strong emphasis on fostering community spirit’. All proceeds of the EVERYDAY KINDNESS anthology are in aid of Shelter and the anthology will be published in e-book and in paperback (available in all good bookstores) on 13 November, World Kindness Day.
